Certains Canadiens sont contre l’idée d’abaisser l’âge de voter de 18 à 16 ans, y compris le conseiller municipal André Chabot de Calgary et Jamie Cutler de Claresholm.

People who vote at a young age might become lifelong voters, but there is no data that suggests this would result in any sort of reasonable increases in voter turnout overall.

Kids as young as 16 need to be out playing football or figuring out what they’re doing for the weekend. There’s enough things in the world taking kids away from being kids. We should just leave the adult world to the adults.
