Leave the Voting Age at 18

Some Canadians are against the idea of lowering the voting age from 18 to 16, including councillor Andre Chabot from Calgary and Jamie Cutler from Claresholm.

People who vote at a young age might become lifelong voters, but there is no data that suggests this would result in any sort of reasonable increases in voter turnout overall.

Kids as young as 16 need to be out playing football or figuring out what they’re doing for the weekend. There’s enough things in the world taking kids away from being kids. We should just leave the adult world to the adults.
